What is a High Sensory Coach?
A High Sensory Coach is someone born with High Sensory Intelligence which gives us natural coaching abilities to create transformation in others, quicker than a normal coach or therapist.
It is also commonly known as Sensory Processing Sensitivity, which is genetic personality trait that occurs in 20-30% of the human population and also found in over 100 species of animals.
We tend to be people that experience life very differently to others, there is a scale and I am on the high end of this scale which makes me an Empath. We have very high levels of empathy and tend to feel everything around us very deeply and intensely, whether they be highs or lows and the sensory information around us.
We go through life often feeling different, awkward and even broken, but this trait once made aware and nurtured has trans-formative effects on you and those around you.
People often label us as “you’re too or so sensitive”, “you are just being difficult”, “you’re just wierd” and often seen having OCD tendencies or meltdowns because we are experiencing sensory overload. Perhaps we come across highly strung or socially awkward in groups. We are often perfectionists and people-pleasers, which when used unwisely can be to our detriment. The list is vast but basically there truly is nothing wrong with us, it’s that the world is too busy and loud for us, so we often have to spend much more time alone than others around us. We are often tired at the end of our days and perhaps are suffering from chronic fatigue because our nervous system has had enough time to relax and recover properly.
We are also very creative beings and often this sort of energy and inspiration flows out of us when we are on our own, as we have a very rich inner life, often seen wearing headphones, walking alone, with our heads in a book, or perhaps just staring into space. I love to have a balance of solo working and working alongside someone as I am what might be labelled Extroverted and High Sensation Seeking. So I enjoy the excitement and energy created as a team, but also love the work that comes from being on my own. We can achieve more in a shorter space of time than non-HSPs, CEOs are now often seeking HSPs to employ due to our perfectionist tendenices, ability to see all the little details, empathise with and manage staff and see the strengths and weaknesses very clearly in staff and the business, assisting all to perform at their optimum.
We need a lot of' downtime or process time, because we take in so much information on a daily basis and this needs to be ‘filtered through’ our system, so-to-speak. Most people may take in 3 cups of information, whereas we will take 100 cups of information, again, depending on where you are on the scale this will vary with every HSP.
We have super computer brains that can perform greatly if we are well nourished, balanced and in the right environment to suit our sensory needs - often quiet and tidy or with nature through a window or surrounded by plants. We are not able to perform to our best if it is noisy, messy and lots of movement is happening around us.
Our nervous system is very active, as is our Amygdala, Insula and Mirror Neurons, so we are very aware of people’s moods, lighting, sounds, smells and how fabric feels on our skin. It’s like living life in HD+++, everything is brighter and louder for us.
We contemplate a lot too, we come up with ideas that will benefit us and those around is all situations, we naturally know what people need before they do, due to us being naturally intuitive and aware of more information around us.
We all have our own unique passions and gifts that others can greatly benefit from and it’s important we find this out as we need to live a life with purpose and fulfillment, otherwise we often suffer from depression, anxiety, suicidal tendencies and substance abuse. We often seek to numb our senses as they can at times be so overwhelming, especially in trauma and end up experiencing substance abuse, or perhaps even trying to seek something outside of ourselves, when all the goodness in already within us, we just need to feel and listen to it.
So with this intuitive ability, we are able to facilitate change and assist great transformation in others that are seeking the truth within themselves, we all have our area of expertise and mine is around the human conditioning, so I am able to easily see and feel where people have become victims and suffered in their lives from conditioning that is not them, but they have believed it and acted it out. Whether that is in jobs that are not making them happy, relationships, lifestyle etc. I enable HSPs to return to their true self, find out who they really are, what really makes them feel joyful and live in a place of balance and happiness.
